You could make one that was filled with wheat - as long as you didn't use metal fasteners you could just pop it in the microwave to heat it up and wear it whenever you wrist was hurting! My sister is an athlete and she swears by wheat packs for sore muscles.

The only thing about the wheat packs is that after you microwave them a few times they start to smell like cooked wheat...not necessarily a bad smell, but not always what you're going for when you craft something like that for someone.  I've made lavender and wheat filled froggies for myself and other people, and while I love mine and have freshened it up with lavender oil, it does have that wheat smell.  Personally, I don't mind it, but it's something to keep in mind.  Smiley

I love that we're talking about this... can you freeze the wheat packs to get the same effect?

Wheat doesn't freeze very well, as it's dried and doesn't hold the chill for very long.  Things that are moist/wet stay cold for much longer.  (It's because of the heat capacity of water being much higher than other things, making it resistant to changes in temperature... I won't get all science-y on you here.)
But you will get a few minutes of cold out of it before your body warms it up.. probably 10 or less.
You could make the cuff out of a material that's washable (cotton, etc) and moisten it a little before freezing.  Of course, it would mean you'd have to store it in the freezer all the time to keep it from going moldy... but I guess it's worth a try?

I finished mine and then was staring at it for 10 minutes before deciding it was too plain. It's yelling at me that it's not pretty enough so I shall work on it this week and will hopefully make a second one if I have time. (between all the chanukah presents, which starts this weekend and I have NO presents made, argh)
