RecycleMicol used some the other day to make an envelope; I'll have to find out what she used.

I used a wicked-strong double-sided tape that came with those super-tiny glass bead kits that pre-teens buy to decorate cardboard frames and such.  (The kit was given to me by a 13 year old friend of mine.)  I have a feeling you can buy the tape near any of those beads, seperately, in a craft store.  It's strong enough to hold the beads, (they're the shaker-box kind of beads with no hole) so it's really heavy-duty.

Good luck!

Another idea you could use is clear plastic ((Either clear contact paper stuck to itself)) as the pockets, that way you could see the whole thing easily Smiley

I don't really like the look of plastic, which is why I'm trying to work up an alternative to it...just my preference.

I found a source on-line for the super-strong tape we were talking about.

Just in case your craft store doesn't carry it.
