Hi.  Lips sealed It's late. I haven't doodled in a while. I hope you all don't mind my lame doodling passing as art.

Sooo. Yes. Uh. Getting to the point.. I've tried again drawing a hand on a portrait.  Roll Eyes Her wrist this time isn't anorexic but her middle finger just doesn't seem right. She's supposed to be thinking deeply.

I tried coloring blonde hair. Blonde hair is hard. I sketched this late last night after I arrived home. I colored it just now.

I think it's the angle of the middle finger.  I think it should be more curling down next to the chin instead of leaning to the side - it almost looks dislocated.  Smiley

Good stuff though, I like seeing your practices...

I think the middle finger needs to be foreshortened (foreshortening).
And try to add more darker tones to the body, that way the lady looks more real/3d.

The hands on this one look better than the previous one.  I really recommend drawing doing some drawings of just hands.  They're very expressive pretty complex all by themselves.  Master artists did lots and lots of studies of hands to get them right.

Cinnamon, I did another with just a hand facing up. Well, I added some lame symbolism behind it. I drew a bird, too. A dove. It's the reaching for love one in a different discussion thread. I think it's a tad better?  Embarrassed No one has responded, but I know it's pretty lame. It's OK.. Smiley

Cinnamon, I visited your new website. I like how you used your daily sketches as icons for your different pages. It puts the 'personal' in a personal site!  Smiley Wink Are you keeping up with your regimen? I've been bad and not practicing or even doodling.  Embarrassed

Sorry, I haven't been on this board for a while so I didn't see it.  (I've been busy making christmas presents.)  I posted on it just now.

I got out of the habit over Thanksgiving, cuz I was out of town, but I've been at it again since I got back.  There are some up on my blog now.  It's been tough to keep the habit and I have been getting a bit lazy, but you just got to think of it in baby steps.  I once read about people who bike across the US.  They say that a lot of it is in your thinking - you have to concentrate on today because if you worry about making it over the Rockies you'll never get there.
