the craft fair is called Market Day.  It's on a cute little courthouse square that's surrounded by a lot of funky and interesting stores, so the business is pretty good.  It only sets up around the courthouse, so space is limited.  You can go to this website to get an application:   http://www.mainstreetnewnan.com/

You find everything from jewelry to quilts to birdhouses there...they even have organic vegetables & honey!  If you can't get a booth, you still may want to check this place out.  The first date of the season will be in April.  And...I'm glad you were just joking.  A lot of people from the north side think if you don't live in a town home and drive an audi that you're just a GA country bumpkin!  Not that there's anything wrong with bumpkins...I'm just not one of them.

This is sooooo helpful.  We are moving to Roswell in May and the first thing I want to know is where to find great fabrics!  I don't know Atlanta very well, but maybe this will give me an excuse to trapse all over the city (with a 2 year-old in tow).  Thanks for the great resources.  DC has no cheapy stores that I could find- so I'm looking forward to hitting some discount places.  I also love hitting craft fairs.

wow - yay another n. atlanta girl - too bad i don't knit or crochet - maybe you can teach me melissa -- i would totally adore that - if you have some extra time - i am dying to learn and i get lost with books - i need hands on teaching - so let me know if that would be possible!
If you live near Alpharetta/Roswell, you can go to Only Ewe and Cotton Too on Mayfield Road.  Very nice people there...I would know, she's my next-door neighbor.
Bythe way, does anyone go to Milton High?  PM me if you do.

Wanna be in a craft group in atlanta. Check out thecraftypirates.blogspot.com
It is free and it is a cool group of artists and crafters. There is food and we meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 3pm-6pm. We are also featured this month is ADORN magazine.
We are looking for about 6 more crafters to join us. We meet at my house and currently there are about 5 of us that come on a regular basis. My house is near Candler Park and Little 5 points.

They have fabric/knitting/crafting supplies there.
My experiences there have been very pleasant.
It's worth checking out.
