These are super-nifty.  I've done lots of things with old ties, but nothing nearly as genius as this. (I'm currently smacking my forehead for never seeing the possibility... like... duh!)

I need a glasses case, and a pencil case, and I have been putting off making them out of (a)lack of ideas and (b) fear of zippers.

Whoa! What an awesome idea! I think I'll make one to hold my larger bamboo double pointed knitting needles. I think the teeny metal needles I use on socks would poke though, but the larger ones I use on hats would fit perfectly!
