I actually had a fleeting moment of craftiness earlier while crocheting my sister's legwarmers and made the Lovers card.  Haha!  I figured I'd get a jump-start.  You know you're a craft-addict when you're working on one project and have to excuse yourself from it because between stitches an ATC design idea pops into your head.  Tongue

I totaly just looked through all the cards in the old swap gallery and they all look awesome.
I want the first three cards so darn bad.
I am also starting to feel a little bad because I don't usually do paper crafts, so this will be quite the learning experience for me.
Thankfully for me mummy is well and truly into cardmaking so I have somebodys supplies to pilfer.

darn me.
I got so excited I just made my the lovers card.

Edit:
tarot decks you buy sometimes have greek letters or stuff on them but I don't know anything about what symbols should be on the cards.
does anybody know, or is there a website that will tell me.  I don't want to know WHAT should be on the card, I also want to know why it should be on the card, I won't put on anything that I don't understand.

and I also found this lovely quote on this site during a search
Quote
21. Can I (and should I) design my own Tarot deck?

Can you? Sure. While you at it, go design (or doodle) a starship, or a nuclear reactor, or paint the 21st-century Mona Lisa, or write a great novel or just do something really useful with yourself and cure cancer. Because, if you're just starting out with Tarot, or if you've only been at it using the blind-alley affirmation method, you don't have a clue about what you're doing or what Tarot is about. Isn't that correct? So, why do you figure you'd be any good at designing an example of something you know little or nothing about? But, lots of people do figure just that, aiming to reach the heights by expressing the depths of arrogance and absurdity. And they inevitably end up with muck that only vaguely makes sense even to them. The greatest Tarot deck ever designed, the Thoth deck of Aleister Crowley, was the culmination of a long and interesting life spent absorbing and processing huge amounts of symbolic data. Now, that's what we all do of course, process symbolic data. It's just that some of us are artists at it, and those people not only can but SHOULD make Tarot decks (and that doesn't require a pack of cards), and some of us can't process our way out of a wet paper bag, and those people should spectate (not speculate)

Rosemary, I have yet to find a website that actually dissects the elements on each Tarot card and discusses the symbolism behind them; however, I own a book called The Complete Guide to the Tarot by Eden Gray and it does.  If you would like, tomorrow I could post the descriptions for the Lovers, Hierophant and Emperor cards.

That would be so damn perfect if you could.
I will try and see if I can order that book from my library too, but the ordering system for the library takes a fair while, so I might not get it for a few weeks and I will probibly have the cards made with what information I have by then.

Edit:
the library doesn't actually have that book
