Clothing Challenge Ideas!!

Well I participated in the Cool Shirt swap which was a lot of fun.

One thing I'm interested in, but have difficulty figuring out is reconstructed clothing for Plus Size. It might make a great challenge.

Gender Bending: reconstruct men's clothing for women or, more challenging maybe, reconstruct women's clothing for men.
Wardrobe Building: make something that complements clothes you already have and allows you to wear them in new combinations.
Guilt Reduction: get out that old, unused pattern that you bought but never used and either make it or redesign it for your current taste/needs and then make it. (Surely I'm not the only guilty one...)
New Technique: challenge yourself to make something that uses a technique you haven't tried before (shirring? Hong Kong seaming? boning?)

Don't know if these have been said or not but heres my 2 cents lol

Steampunk
Video game character
Movies (making something that would go with the theme of a movie. i.e Titanic, Star Wars, The Avaitor)
Music (different genres, specific artist)
Seasons
Cities or countries?
Food, candy
Having an inspirational piece (shoe, necklace, hairstyle) and creating something around that
Using decorator fabric
Using uncommon materials
Menswear, kids clothes, pets

That is all I have for now. I can't wait to partake in great ideas!!!

I thought I liked the idea of a recon challenge better than a non-recon challenge, then I saw this:

Lots of people have a pattern sitting around they meant to use, but never have. This could be good motivation to use it.

Or some fabric they've been saving?

Ok, I know there are a lot of skinny minnies here and I really envy you.  I am just not one of them.  I am looking for ideas to up size (not up-scale) dresses that I find at thrift shops.  I find lots of things to size down, beautiful materials, etc.  Some of them are wonderful ... just too small.  Does anyone else have this problem.  I would like a challenge to re-fashion something to make it bigger!

Upsizing is a great idea for a challenge, and I'm sure it can be done by people of any size... (if someone's really skinny they could always upsize a barbie outfit )

Animal costumes (who doesn't want to ass stuff to their poor animal's head! Plus we'd get looks at other countries pets)
Anything but Material is always fun
Second-String Character Costumes (Maybe there was a cute costume on a character from a game or movie who was only meant to be in the background.)
Color theme would be nice....I'm a fan of black n white.

Upsizing is cool...maybe skinnies could downsize?

Meh, you can always take kids clothing and make it your size if you're an adult, or if you're making for a kid you can just use something for a smaller kid. I really like this idea!
