I made this Kon amigurumi a long time ago in my "make every character from every anime I ever watched" phase. I am in the process of cleaning up those old patterns and offering them here on craftster.
Supplies
Caron Simply Soft yarn in yellow, brown and white, F hook
or,
Red Heart worsted weight yarn, G hook
2 12 mm safety eyes
1 pink safety nose or bead
1 brown button with 4 holes
polyester stuffing
Head
1.With yellow, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2.(2 sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
3.(sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (18 sc)
4.(sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24 sc)
5.(sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (30 sc)
6.(sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (36 sc)
7-12. (sc in each sc) around (36 sc)
13. (sc in next 4 sc, dec over 2 sc) around (30 sc)
14. (sc in next 3 sc, dec over 2 sc) around (24 sc)
15. (sc in next 2 sc, dec over 2 sc) around (18 sc)
16. (sc in next sc, dec over 2 sc) around (12 sc)
17. sl st in next st, finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Body
1.With yellow, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook
2.(2 sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
3.(sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (18 sc)
4.(sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24 sc)
5.in back loops only, (sc in each sc) around (24 sc)
6-8. in both loops again, (sc in each sc) around (24 sc)
9. (sc in next 2 sc, dec over 2 sc) around (18 sc)
10-11. (sc in each sc) around (18 sc)
12. (sc in next sc, dec over 2 sc) around (12 sc)
13. sl st in next st, finish off.
Arms/Legs (make 4)
1.With white, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2.(2 sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
3.Sc in next 3 sc, ch 3, sl st in same st, sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, sl st in same st, sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, sl st in same st, sc in remaining sc.
4.In back loops only, sc in each sc around (on the chained parts—sc in the sc you slip stitched in from row 2 below—it’s a little tight, but it’s possible)—12 sts
5-6.Change to yellow, (sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
7.(sc in next 2 sc, dec over 2 sc) around (9 sc)
8-9. (sc in each sc) around (9 sc)
10. (sc in next sc, dec over 2 sc) around (6 sc)
11. Sl st in next st, finish off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Ears (Make 2)
1.With yellow, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2.(2 sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
3-4. (sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
5. Sl st in next st, finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
6. Press flat to form a half bowl shape.
Mane
1.With brown, ch 33, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 sts, *ch 3, sc in next 2 sts*, repeat between * to end. Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Cheeks (make 2)
1.With white, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2.(2 sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
3.(sc in each sc) around (12 sc)
4.Sl st in next st, finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembly
1.Before stuffing head, pin cheeks to head where you want them to be, then place safety eyes and nose in. Remove cheeks and stuff head. Cheeks will be sewn on once the head is stuffed and attached to body.
2.Stuff body and sew to head.
3.Arrange mane by folding in half to find center point and pin into center point on top of head. Pin down sides before sewing to head.
4.For arms: fold opening of arm in half so that the middle claw will point forward when sewn on. Whipstitch in place, then sew to body at neck. Pull leftover yarn from both arms to where tail will be.
5. For legs: fold opening of leg so that all three claws will face forward when sewn on. Whipstitch in place, then sew legs to body using back loop only row as a guide. Pull leftover yarn from one of the legs to where tail will be.
6. Braid the three strands of yarn to form tail. Leave about 1” at bottom and knot it. Tie a strand of brown yarn at bottom and trim all strands to make even. Fray all strands.
7. Add ears in front of mane
8. Sew cheeks on. You can use yarn scraps in the same color to stuff them lightly.
9. For mouth, there are two options: 1. ch 4 and tack that in place, or 2. Attach yarn on bottom of left cheek, ch 4, attach to other side with a sl st, then sc around ch going back (about 10 sc) and sew in place along bottom.
10. Add button to tummy and you’re done!
