[dammit.  i had already written a big long thing and I accidentally closed the window and lost it all.  here's the gist of it]
Shock arrived home today!  In addition to his photos and stories on CD, he brought lots of cool stuff:

-a new Hawaiian shirt
-awesome t-shirt transfer (says, "you can't scare me, I'm a teacher")
-plushie frozen banana
-cuddly tiger PEZ dispenser (I had no idea they made soft ones!)
-honey roasted peanuts
-awesome pen and post cards from Museum of Art
-script for play he helped with
-new year's eve souvenirs
-restaurant chopsticks
-cross-stitched Pooh for my daughter (she loves it)

missing from the picture are these two headbands (from my wists), which we were already wearing when I took the package picture:

and here is a closer shot of Shock's new shirt, the tiger and the banana:

awesome package, eh?   Grin  Thanks, Lulubean!!!

That is way too cute!  I love his new shirt!

Yay!  I'm glad he made it home alright, and I'm glad you like everything. I had done a little post stalking and saw you say you wanted a shirt with that saying on it so I wiped that up.  I tried to put it on a shirt for her but I totally messed up and decided to just send the transfer  Embarrassed

I saw those PEZ dispensers at World Market and bought a whole bunch for gifts because I had never seen them before either- they had a "Barnyard" set and a "Jungle" set.  Too cute.  I had to restrain myself from buying two of every one.

I think Penelope is back today too (I have a package slip in my mailbox but no clues as to who it's from) but she'll be trapped in my apartment complex's office until the morning Sad  I hope it's her!

I'll be relieved when we know for sure Penelope is home -- I always worry about packages! (usually needlessly)

I have a bit of swap anxiety because Penelope didn't bring back nearly the kind and quality of goodies that Shock brought home.  It's always hard to know just how much to do and how far to go.

I sent some blank postcards back with scruffy... but I didn't even think of newspapers... my town is just boring... we shouldn't even have a newspapers...

Forgive me for being off topic, but yarnhag, I just noticed that you changed your profile to "I'm knitting a baby girl!"  Congrats!

It was Penelope waiting for me!  I'm so glad she's home.  She came back with an awesome Winter coat, a sweet party dress, a suitcase for all her clothes, a cd with music (can't wait to listen) and a box of yummy chocolate.  When you said you were sending Smarties I was thinking the tart sugar discs that we have here but these Smarties are made of chocolate and therefore 1 million times better.  It took a lot of constraint not to just open the box and devour them on first sight.  They are currently all gone.

Here she is fresh out the box (I love her chenille accented coat):

And here's her in her sexy party dress:

From the scrapbook it looks like she had a lot of fun as oppose to yarnhags humble claims.  She even went on a date with a serenading penguin!  I think my favorite picture, though, is her trying on hockey equipment.  Too funny!

Penelope is a pixie that I made especially for this swap from the Sprite pattern on CrochetMe.  I made her limbs shorter, used a smaller hook, colored her differently and added a wild mess of hair and little felt wings.  I was concerned about her warmth so I sent her in a sweater, skirt and pixie hood too.  She was fun to make and I'm glad she's back. Smiley  (I'll take better pictures later, I was just too excited to have her back)

Thanks yarnhag!  You did a great job. And I also congratulate you on finding out the baby is a girl.  Girls are the easiest to craft for, that's for certain.  YAY!

oh good, I'm so glad she made it home safely.  Smiley

I'd almost completely forgotten about the music CD -- I made it kind of at the last minute... okay, the last few hours, because it took forever to get the tracks I wanted copied and sorted and burned.

And yes, we think it's a girl.  That is, the ultrasound didn't show a... male appendage, as it were... but there's still the possibility that the baby turns out to be a boy.  I'm not going to paint the nursery pink or anything...
