Man, I am fed up with the selection at Walmart, Micheals, and even AC Moore.  Plus, they're RUDE at AC Moore.  Anyhoo, does any one know of any LYS around Charleston?  Or, maybe within a couple hours of Charleston?  I can't seem to find anything.  Maybe you know?  Help me, please!

There's one downtown (on Wentworth, I think) called "Knit".  I've also heard of one in Pawley's Island called "Island Knits".  Hope that helps!

Really?  Cool, thanks!  I hope they're not snobby there, I've heard lots of horror stories about meanies at LYSs.

I have sweet dreams about Knit.  It's a beautiful and cozy store, with tons of stuff just to browse and what seemed like a good community of knitters when I visited.  I walked in and it was just how I imagined a LYS: tons of beautiful yarn and products, with people siting around knitting REALLY cool stuff and chatting like they were old time pals.  I wish I lived around there!!

I love personal swaps, accessories, disguises, animals, riding my bike, pen pals, and the Lone Star State.

I enjoy going in there every now and then, but I seem to always get ignored, hehe. I only go during the day in the middle of the week, so maybe that's it. Plus the stuff cost too much for this poor ass college student.

I love knit too! I'm a broke college student as well (I usually go in there for ideas and inspirations), but everytime I've been in there they're always very welcoming... especially with helping you out on any project questions or problems you're facing. It's definitely worth checking out, but only if you have an afternoon to spend feeling every yarn in the darn store.  Wink
