this is so fantastic! I made one in exactly the opposite colors- lime green with blue and white. Mine's fairly bulky as well so I wear it with a hoodie underneath and it's warm enough to work as a jacket. Great job!

I am a small in t shirts. I made the medium size, but like I said before I didn't used the yarn that was called for. my yarn was a little bulkier so I modified the pattern for it. I know this probably doesn't help!! But my advice is to make a size bigger than usual, the area at the yoke with the armpits makes it hard to move your arms around as freely as you'd like (I hate yoke sweaters for this...). Good luck!
cha.cha.cha., let's see a pic! those colors sound awesome!

it looks great, one of my fave patterns. i was toying with the idea of just making the yoke, as a sort of mini capelet - is that insane? i just don't want a big cardi, so it's either that, or try and make it shirt sleeved and a bit cropped.
any tips from someone who's taken the task on?

I think it looks great - I love the color combination. It's helpful to see another example besides what's in the book. I was considering making this pattern, too. I used Lamb's Pride bulky for another sweater (actually, the cable sweater from the first S&B) and it turned out extremely heavy, so I was wary of trying that again here. Good to hear about your experience with a different yarn!

I made one from a completely random bulky yarn I found while traveling...the guage seemed right, but it came out nearly unwearable - way too small! I've blocked it once to stretch it a bit and now I can put it on, but it's not at all an attractive fit. I hope a second or third blocking may do the trick since the wool is really elastic, barely spun at all (it even broke once or twice while knitting it)
That being said, I think your sweater is beautiful, and there are always places you could use a slightly baggier sweater than usual...

Aww thanks you guys. It's not just the bagginess of this sweater, it's the yoke being tight across my shoulders. When I wear it, I can't raise my arms! Not only that, but I am not the best at fair isle, so my stitches in the color pattern are stretched...argh. I am just not happy with it. It's my *PERFECTIONIST* personality, I guess. My plan is to frog this baby and turn it into the spicy v neck from Fitted Knits. It hasn't happened yet.

Mine ended up a smidge too small :-(
Yours is very pretty, though, even if you think it's too big.
