I need more over the knee socks, but i'm sorta in a money crunch, so I want to try to make some out of stretchy material. I was thinking that i could make some kickass socks with fun prints or old t-shirts with logos.. has anyone tried anything similar?  any thoughts? I am a little worried about the foot bit..

thanks   Smiley

I've seen fleece 'socks' at Green Pepper patterns (I think - it was a while ago) - but the idea of walking on or rubbing against seams always bugged me.  As for how to do it - do you have an old pair of socks you can cut up and make a pattern from them?

Although I don't yet know how I feel about the 80's fashions coming back...what about legwarmers?  That would take care of the foot issue, and they would be super easy.

you could always take up knitting. takes a lot longer than sewing, but knitting socks can be very zen-like, when you're knitting the leg of it. Smiley
