To The 9s, I agree with wildanimus -- listing often/relisting makes a HUGE difference.  I try to list/relist something every day.  When I don't, my shop slows down to almost nothing.  Sales have been slower for me since the week before Christmas, but I was expecting it (that happened last year, too.)  I'm using this time to get caught up on all stuff I got behind on before Christmas -- freebies/promos, envelopes (I make my own from recycled papers/recipe cards), and stocking up my shop with new items.

I haven't had a sale for about a month, however my last sale was on of the biggest orders I have so far so I won't get discouraged.

I think I may need to do the "list an item every day or so" thing to get some more views. As I'd like to knock my sales up considerably.

Christmas time was scary for me. I went from having daily sales to no sales for nearly two weeks but I am back on track I think and the sales are coming in again.
At least on Etsy you never feel alone and there are others having same lack of sales so you can console each other.

I wish everyone a prosperous New Year with may sales and a flow of creative ideas.

You absolutely need to relist items and list new things regularly.  When you ignore your shop sales go quiet.l

I do not practice what I preach!     I think having a good selection of offerings is also really important.

In shop news, it's been quiet the last few days, but that's given me a chance to get caught up on housework, samples, misc. shop stuff.  But I am LOVING the new analytics!  It's very, very interesting to see the views, and where they're coming from!

Can ya'll explain what these analytics are and how to sign up for them?  Also, if you give a customer a % of "coupon", how do you work that in the ETSY checkout?  Do you jest refund some of their money in paypal after they have paid?

Google Analytics is a tool that tracks the traffic to a given website.  Etsy is now offering the tool to its sellers (for free, at the moment).  I've been able to see how many page views I get in 24 hours, what sites refer them, my "hottest" page or items, even what cities the person is viewing from.  I don't think I could walk you through setting it up, but it was easy if you follow their instructions.  Here's the Storque article on it:

When I offer a % off sale, I tell the customer they can wait for a revised invoice before paying (most do) or if they've already paid, I refund the difference through Paypal.

So I announced a sale yesterday, all my plushies have been reduced by 25%.  I've noticed a few more views since so I think it's working.
