Help - I need some suggestions!

I had someone purchase one of my necklaces today and she asked me to send it priority so it could get there by thurs as she will be displaying it at a fair this weekend where she is demoing resin, she told me to send my business cards with it etc. I told her I couldn't guarantee thurs arrival  but would send it priority for her and I sent her an invoice for the added shipping. Now she sent me an message on Etsy asking me to just send it regular mail and mail it to her hotel. She's already paid and I am happy to work with all my customers...Should I tell her I will with an added disclaimer? I'm sending it to a hotel after all and I can't be responsible for what happens from there!

I'm finally happy with the look of my etsy shop.  Nice clean, crisp pictures so all attention can be on my accessories and jewellery... now to just make more listings! I have just realized that I have spent way, way more on supplies over the last year than I've made on sales.  This needs to change.

Yay, congrats!  The best thing you can do for yourself is not give up when you feel like giving up sometimes.

LuxieLou... I think you could add a disclaimer if you wanted to, but I would just do what she wanted and not worry too much about it.  I'm actually going through the same thing with a customer right now, but she did add the extra shipping, after the fact.  Which reminds me... I'd better get to packing up her order!

One other thing -- remember when I said I wasn't doing custom orders any more?  I totally caved, and am doing them again.  My shop is very slow still, so I figured I might as well be doing something to bring in money.  I actually have a lot of bulk and custom orders right now -- a 3 week backlog -- so I guess it's nice to have something to do until my actual shop picks up.

Luxie, I agree, I'd have just sent it where she wanted. As long as you've got an email from her asking for that, i see no reason it could come back and bite you.

Barbalot, I'm doing custom and wholesale too still . . . just not on crocheted or sewn items because the time commitment is greater with those.  I've turned down a few wholesale orders as well just because buyers don't always understand that my items involve vintage pieces.  I can sometimes accommodate large orders of the same item, but its hard when vintage coins are involved!  I'm even finding that since the pearls I use are hand dyed, I often can't exactly replicate the colors that buyers see existing in my shop.  Its a case by case thing I guess.  I do think I'm going to post a note about NO custom or wholesale orders in December, since thats the busy season.

I haven't been of for a while but was curious to see if anyone was doing any promoting over Halloween. I'm making up treat bags for our little beggars, including hair clips with crochet flowers with a button center and a card with my shop on it. I was thinking of doing pins for the parents for wider exposure but then I thought it would be my luck a kid would get hurt & I would get sued.

Anyone else doing any shameless promoting?
