Hi, everyone! I have been MIA for a little while and just wanted to catch up on all the posts. I will eventually.

My shop hasn't been as busy as in the past. It's either Etsy is very slow or the competition has just gotten greater. We'll see how the Fall goes.

Modus: That display looks fantastic! It looks like a lot of work but it will be worth it. Good luck with the show.

hi all!
still on vacation but i just had to share:
my craft fair was a HIT!
i sold over 60 items, handed out +100 business cards and +60 samples/promos of other etsy shops
i'm slowly taking pictures of my stock that did not sell to list on etsy... so loads of new button items coming soon

I got my first whole sale order on Etsy - she is buying 60 button rings . I'm psyched because the deposit was already made. One opps though... I didn't realize the buyer was in Saudi Arabia (I'm in the US) until after she paid in paypal and I saw the address. I quoted her a shipping price of $5 when she made the order, thinking that I could mail them in one of those flat rate envelopes from the post office for $4.55 and then I'd pay for the insurance and tracking. To ship internationally, this will be over $20 (at least I think). Since it was my mistake to not quote an international rate, do I just have to eat the cost? (I suppose I could chalk it up to learning experience...)
