How's your Etsy shop doing now?

WOW... congrats Tomate... looks like all your hard work and great designs are finally paying off. Good luck with it, you've been working hard and definitely deserve this break.

I had the weirdest thing happen to me today... I had someone ask if they could buy something for cheaper They said they were on a budget... I was a little floored.  Would they do that at Walmart or the Mall? Anyhoo, I just replied that I could make a modified bag for them for cheaper, but that I couldn't sell the bag they wanted for that much because of the time and money that went into it.... their reply sounded like they didn't want the bag after all.  Has anyone else had this happen... it totally baffles me.

NessaGurl, yes, I had that happen to me several times. Those people should not be shopping on Etsy, because they really don't understand the value of unique handmade items. My prices are low enough already.

Nessagurl, that has happened to me too. It's a very strange behavior (as far as I am concerned) and I have read in the forums that it's happened to others. I think it's a little rude, so I wonder why that happens on Etsy. I wouldn't do that to someone.

Wow, it is really inspiring to read all the success stories about Etsy.  My sister and I just started our shop together a month ago and it has been a fun experience so far.

I'd love to hear any constructive criticism or anything or thoughts on how our page and banner looks.  We only have a couple items for sale, but seems like things are going well!

Anyways just wanted to introduce myself to the pack, this is a completely new area of Craftster for me, but it is nice to know there is a nice supportive bunch here!

Nessa, that is totally weird.   I think you did the right thing and shouldn't worry at all about whether or not she liked your response.  People are very strange. 

aschnebly - Hiya!  Welcome - your shop is really lovely.  The banner is clear and suits the style of your stuff, and the patterns are very neat.  I think you'll continue to do very well.      The only suggestion I can think to make is that for one or two of your listings (if not all of them) you could change the listing title around so that it says "knitting pattern" first, instead of like -  military hat... knitting pattern.  That way, the words that show up in the thumbnail of the listing will clearly say what the item is (a pattern, not a hat) right under the picture, so people looking for patterns (a whole different group of people from those looking for knitted items) will be drawn to your listings by the title when they come across them.  Did I explain that with any clarity at all??     Anyways, like I say, really nice shop; I've bookmarked it.
