After i chose to sell just my jewellery pieces & art, my Etsy shop has not been doing so greatly, as i would hope.
I have 598 sells, which is good, but it seems it has been that 598 for months.
Hopefully this will change soon...

NEAT! Thanks! Smiley

sepiaartstudio your stuff is GORGEOUS!!!  I love every piece in your shop!  I've noticed though that lately smaller items have been moving more for me . . . maybe if you added a few simpler and less expensive items (like earrings, for example) things might start picking up for you again.

I haven't posted here in forever. Refab - congrats on the interview and 78 sales! That is absolutely amazing. I also have a new shop on big cartel and direct most of my promoting efforts that way. I am on the 19.99 plan because it allows you to have more custom pages (e.g. about, press, wholesale, newsletter sign up etc). I am going to stay on etsy though just because I am still getting a few sales there a week and it is a great base of customers. Plus, I really like the community on etsy. The big difference with big cartel is that it is really just a webhosting service that makes setting up a shop easy.

Thanks, sewbettie!  Good to see you here again! Smiley  I checked out your other shop, and it's really nice.  Seriously thinking about the bigcartel idea......

Congrats, kishcrafts, on all your sales!

Speaking of the holidays, is anyone preparing now?  If so, what are you doing to get ready?  Any predictions on how this season will be, with the economy being what it is?

I'm a little worried about the holiday season this year. Hopefully, by then, the economy will be turning around.  I just contacted a bunch of retail shops about carrying Sew Bettie products -  I heard a lot of we love your stuff but our shop is so full right now. Ugh. If we can keep our shops open during this tough time though, it will only get better!

sewbettie . . . good luck with the new shop!! i love the etsy community too . . .but i'd be interested in trying out both like you are. Let us know how it goes, I'd love to hear how your big cartel experience is!

Sarasvati, I'm on facebook too . . . just as me, but I have an "Etsy shop application" up there . .. I'll go friend you Smiley

Barbalot . . . I just had my first "Holiday Rush" thought the other day too Smiley  I've recently upgraded my packaging (there's a post about it in my blog) so I guess thats some kind of prep.  I should get started making neckwarmers soon since those did so well for me last holiday season.  I've got a road trip to a wedding up in northern CA  in august . . . maybe i'll use that time to make neckwarmers.  Also, earrings have been moving in spite of the economic slump for me . . . they're a nice inexpensive treat and they make neat gifts, so I'll be adding a lot of new pairs.
