I want to make my brother-in-law's new dog a little something for Christmas (probably to match what I'm making for him and his wife), but unfortunately, he lives out of state making measuring an impossiblity.  The pup in question is (at least apparantly) a Jack Russell/Beagle mix, but all the dogs I have access to as models are either purse puppies or labs.  Could someone out there with a dog similar in general size give me a few ideas as to measurements?

The age of the dog will make a big difference.  What are you planning on doing--coat, collar.  Beagles tend to put on weight--Jack's don't.  As a average:  collar 14-16 inch, harness 18 inch, coat 16-18 inch.  Go to a pet store and take a look around--or a humane society.  I'm sure you will get lots of help.

Sometime this weekend I can measure Smarty Jones if you like, he's a Jack, does he look to be about the same size??

Those pillows are about as large as a standard bed pillow is tall if that makes sense. Smiley

Oh, sorry, I should have gone back and edited - we did our gift exchange with them over Thanksgiving, I just wussed out and bought something for him.  Turns out he *really* doesn't like wearing stuff anyway.  Thanks for the help, though.
