In case you don't want to stand on your head to read this, it says " A woman with needlework in her hands is generally assumed to have no other thoughts in her head, and can safely harbor any number of improprieties." ~Patricia A. McKillip, Od Magic.
I read this book recently and when I read this line, I knew it had to be preserved in embroidery. The whole book is quite good, pick it up if you get the chance. I designed it in a labyrinth shape because it's kind of a long quote, and there's a labyrinth in the story so I thought it was fitting. It's stitched in purple floss on sea green satin.

I always love your work, this one is no exception.  I love this quote!  I really like McKillip, but have not had a chance to read Od Magic.  I'm gonna have to now!

How did you figure out the spacing for the labyrinthe?  whenever I try something like this it ends up all scrunchy in the middle.

Are you going to frame this or put it on something?

thankyou!! I designed the labyrith shape in Illustrator in a generic font and then traced over it adding the swashys and stuff. I will probably frame this one. Smiley
