I think this pattern alone is enough to inspire me to learn how to crochet.  Too incredibly cool.

I find that I cant ever remember half of the abbreviations and have to keep going back and forth looking them up...it really doesn't save time at all.

They are really cool and original, and look great on your very lovely legs (said in an envious girl way, not a leering boy way!).

Cheera,

I'm such a dork...I can't get past the ch 13, 1/2 dc bit.

Okay, I chain 13, then 1/2 double crochet in the third chain, to the end. But "repeat until band fits around calf while stretched."

Where am I putting those stitches? Am I making 13 more chains?

Sorry I'm an idjit!!!

HELP!

Nope, you're chaining 13 for the beginning chain, then you are half double crocheting into the chain, beginning when you make a half-double into the 3rd chain. Continue half-double crocheting into the rest of the chain. You should end up with 10 half doubles, plus the extra stitch created by the 3 turning chains. Chain three, then turn, etc. etc.

I kept typing "douche" instead of "double". There, I just did it again.
