Monster Bag Cake

I made my son a monster book bag for his first day of Kindy. 





His name is Stanley and he has quite a personality.  For one, his favourite food is crayons. He got banned from the kindergarten classroom for trying to eat the art supplies and now sulks in a cubby while littley is in class.

Anyway, littlely recently turned 6 and I made him a Stanley birthday cake.  All the kids from his class came to the party and instantly recognised his cake.  It was a hit.

Victoria sponge cake base, sandwiched with jam and covered in lurid green buttercream.  Even the adults had some!



Finally, here is the birthday boy wearing his birthday shirt I made him.

The birthday boy is adorable!  The bag is terrific and the cake is extremely clever!  Kudos!

I used Wilton's leaf green food colour paste from Michael's and a dab of regular yellow food colour.

Wow, that's so awesome! What a lucky kid. If you don't mind my asking, what did you make the Stanley-cake's eyes out of? They look chocolatey and yummy.
