Quadratic formula...?

Thanks so much for your help, you guys!
I've decided I'm going to bake cookies and put the quadratic formula on them.

lol i was going to say make a quilt but then i realized that you had to have it by tomorrow.  umm...maybe make beads wit the stuff on it outta polymer clay and make a braclet? or just bake cupcakes'more creatively' than your friend just to show her up

cookies, eh.  hmm.  If I were this teacher, I'd be looking for something better than just writing it out somewhere, personally.

I'm thinking bees (one would be a negative coloured one, the other would be a square bee, of course), AC (alternating current) symbols, a square tree/flower root, ove two guys in touques (eh?  eh?)

I'm into the visual mnemonic thing, personally...

ooo!  I wonder if you could act it out... that would be cool...

I know its too late since you're making these for tomorrow and so are probably done already, but I just wanted to say it might have been neat to make cookies that fit together like a really simple linear puzzle, and write the symbols of the formula on that, and then people would put the pieces together.

But anyway, I'm sure your cookies will be yummy.  If only all studying could be so delicious.

Ooh, good luck on your cookies!  I'm just commenting late to contribute that my teacher taught us to sing the quadratic formula to the tune of "pop goes the weasel."  Try it, it sticks in your head for days!  (which may or may not be a good thing, but at least you memorize it...)

wow! i wish my school had interessting ways to learn formulas.
my teacher just stands there saying " its so easy, i can do it, so can you...I'm not even smart " then i sit there with a blank look on my face. and correct his addition errors.
i would also have gone with cookies.

I really like that quadratic formula song! It's stuck in my head and I've already memorised the formula, even though I could just punch the equation into my calculator!

Being the big math nerd that I am, I was inspired by yarnhag's post:

grr the pic is so small! well anyway, the first bee says "buzz. the world sucks. buzz", then there is a Duracell battery and then, the second bee says "buzz. i am such a nerd. buzz"

Oh my gosh iHeartSquares - that is THE COOLEST math equation I've ever seen - and I've seen some pretty cool equations! (one year I designated myself math team cheerleader "Sine, cosine, cosine, sine, 3.14159! Go Math Team!" That is still to this day how I remember pi.) Anyway, that rocks!
