Ahh sick.
Anyway, a few weeks ago there was a thing for a thing where we were supposed to dress up like pirates. Now, being not so much a pirate fan, and having like a day's notice, I was hardly inclined to whip up a costume.
So instead I whipped up a relevant purse.
Some kind of Treasure Map Pirate Purse.
Arrgg, etc.

It's a lovely size - I managed to cram in all the treasure we won at the thing, but it wasn't like a ginormous sack to haul around.
It's lined in some silky fabric, for today's froofy scoundrel of a pirate:

Twas excellent fun to make... But then my sewing machine died. Sigh.

Gorgeous! How did you do the "map" on the outside of the bag. I don't imagine you just happened to have fabric like that. Very unique!

Thanks everyone!

I made the outside of the bag out of some upholstery samples I got from my friend's aunt. It's some kind of fake suede-y stuff, which I thought looked like old paper... then I was like "oooh it could be a map!" - Then I just drew on it with a permanent marker.
