I've been so inspired by all of the monster purses lately that I decided to make one for myself.  I didn't have monster fur,  but decided that my monster likes plaid tweed instead - and the dominant shade of yellowish brown in the fabric inspired his name Smiley

I kinda like how if his "mouth" isn't closed all the way you can see a bit more of his teeth than just the fangs...

I didn't follow a specific monster purse tutorial.  Based on all of the others I've seen, I kinda "winged it" from the basic square bottom shape (think jordy style) bag and added the facial features.

Now Colonel Mustard has a few imperfections (who doesn't?!) that bugged me at first, but I guess they're just a part of his charm.  He is, after all, a monster.  Wink

I got him done -just- in time to go away for the weekend... can't wait to use him and show him off Smiley  Thanks for looking!

That is just too cute.  I wonder if my nieces would want something like that. I Love the open mouth - great touch!  And not all monsters are furry!

Yeah!  I love the new take on the design.  Just as cute, or er scary, without fur.  Great job!

The imperfections as you say just add to the charm.  I think it is adorable.  Have a fun time showing him off!!!

I really like this bag. One reason is it wouldnt leave fuzzys around on your clothes. I never made one because I thought it would be "messy" on my clothes (using the fur). However, you have given me hope! Woot, good job!

That's so cute!  But that fabric appears to be a cotton, not tweed.

It's an incredibly thick blend, then - I found it on a roll in the bargain bin not labeled *shrug*

Thanks for all of the kind compliments, everyone Smiley

Thats just about the cutest messenger bag ever.

If I were going to make it, I would add a little cell phone pocket under the tongue, so the tongue acts like a flap for the pocket. Then you don't have to rummage threw it when you start hearing the midi version of "My Humps".
