I've been saying for years that I was going to make my own underwear because I can never find any that fit right. I finally made some. I had one pair of underwear that fit about right so I copied those. I have since made a few more pairs and perfected my pattern. Plus underwear is fairly expensive and falls apart easily. I double stitched mine and made sure they were rugged. They're just a front, a back and I stretched and stitched some lingerie elastic around the legs and waist. Plus I like to tell people I make my own underwear Smiley

I used a pair that I bought that fit me fairly well. I made a few pairs before I perfected my pattern.

Underwear never seems to fit me right. They need 1/2 sizes. A 6 is too small and a 7 is too big in the butt for me. I hate riding underwear!

These are nice and snug at the leg and cover my whole butt, but don't come up too far on top so you can see them hanging out of my pants.

Plus I hate the double lined crotch underwear, they only make me hott, so these are unlined.

I have the same problems that you have..I also have been saying for years that I will make my own underwear..

I just have to stop fearing my sewing machine.

Okay, I never would have thought of doing this, but now you've got me thinkin'!

Hmmm...I could make my own underwear and then silkscreen them...Or use funky patterns (like you used---lovin'it!).  I was always a little bit jealous of kids who got to wear underoos...they came along after I was too big for them, plus I don't remember if they made them for girls...

Would it be possible to eliminate the seam at the crotch? What if you just cut out the pattern in an hourglass-type shape (front and back as one solid piece) and then just sewed up the side seams? Would that work? Or, is there some basic sewing knowledge that I'm forgetting and the crotch seam needs to be there?

The choices you make today determine the choices you will have tomorrow.

That's a thought.. I wonder if it would work...

plz write a tutorial!  Grin Grin

I have a tutorial for undies, the title thread is "Panties, and a tutorial" and its somewhere on the 2nd page.

It looks like hers and mine have the same general shape, she just was patient and added some nice lace.

The lace makes it look 100x's better, girly, good job.
