Attention fabric-holics!!!  Need to update your fabric stash for holiday crafting?  Or do you just love the idea of getting fabric in the mail?  Then this swap's for you!

Instant Fabric Swap - Quick signups and quick sendouts for (almost) instant gratification.  We're swapping flat rate boxes full of fabric - what could be better?

Read on if you're interested...

Swap name:  Instant Fabric Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap:  aeronberry
Sign-up date range:  November 10-16
Date to send item by:  November 20

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional):  nope

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? US/Canada only in order to keep shipping costs down for everyone

All ages allowed? yes

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap:
-Update your fabric stash!

-Each swapper will send one flat rate box (11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8") or the equivalent STUFFED with fabric (let's make the most out of that flate rate, people!  Grin).  Out of consideration for your partner, please make sure that all fabric is clean and usable.

-No crafting is required for this swap, and buying fabric to send is optional (it's expected that you are passing along fabric from your own stash), so it shouldn't be a problem to send on time.  Please plan ahead and let your partner and the organizer know if you are sending late.  Lack of communication will be noted in feedback.

-Confirmation numbers are required, as is notifying partner/organizer when you send/receive.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
What types of fabric are you planning on sending (quilting, kids' prints, vinyl, faux fur, etc.)?
What are your favorite styles/types of fabric? (just to give your partner an idea)
Is there any type of fabric that you do NOT use?
Anything else that would be important for your partner to know?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

Yay!
I so joined this!

Just a note I thought I would add.
If you pay + print your postage online (Priority Mail), Delivery Confirmation is free! And since you know you will be paying the flat rate, you don't have to take it to the post office!

I'm interested in this swap but have a question - I'm in Canada and I've never heard of flat rate boxes.  What I'm wondering is, how much is the US flat rate to send these boxes?  The price might give me an idea of what size I can send from Canada for a similar cost.

The flat-rate boxes come in two sizes here,  11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8" and  11" X 8.5" X 5.5".  Something close in size would be fine for people in Canada or people who can't find the flat-rate boxes.

Sorry you have to miss this one!  I think there's talk of another ongoing fabric swap, though, so you might want to keep an eye out for that one.

I'd love to join, but I have a whole load of 80's - 90's style country fabric scraps (picking up my mom's old stash from when she did more sewing), and I have doubts that anyone would want something like that.  It was great when I first started crafting, but my tastes have switched to jewel-colored brocades, satiny, and velvetlike materials.

mm brocade. I joined. a local thrift store gets tons of yards of fabric donated and then they make up bags of like ten yards worth of assorted fabrics for a dollar so my stash could use a bit of pruning.

Ooh, lots of fabric for a dollar.  Thanks, Cumber, that reminded me: I have a bunch of discontinued home dec swatches, too.  I'm using some for coin purses and little drawstring bags to hold gifts, but some swatches I'll probably never get around to using.  It would be nice to see them go to a good home.  Maybe I will sign up.

I wouldn't bank on people not wanting what you have. Sometimes things can be a pleasant surprise. Smiley

Hi everyone!!

Just a reminder that signups run through Thursday.  I'll probably send partner info late Thursday evening because Friday will be super busy for me.

And so you all know, based on the sending/would like to receive answers that people are giving on their signups, it looks like this will be a round robin style swap.  So A -> B -> C -> A, or something like that.  The plus side of that is that you get to know two craftsters instead of just one  Grin.

Let me know if you have any questions!,

Ok, partners are posted!

Please note: NOBODY IS SENDING TO THE SAME PERSON WHO IS SENDING TO THEM.  I tried to match people as well as I could based on what they said they were sending and would like to receive, so I'm sorry if it's confusing  Wink.

I'll pm everyone their recipient info shortly.

Don't forget:
Send by Monday the 20th.
You MUST get a DCN - that's a Craftster rule.
PM me and your sender/recipient when you send/recieve.
Let me know if you have any questions!

I'm off to see how much fabric I can cram into a flat rate box....

Happy Swapping!,
