tutorial: Old $1.50 PJ shirt=New $1.50 purse:) (9pics)

OK so I finally add a tutorial (if anyone still wants one)at the bottom of the post



I found this pajama shirt at salvation army for $1.50 and liked the print so I made a purse

Heres the before



And heres the after



I also used the buttons from the shirt on the purse(cuz they are  big and pink!!!)

Tutorial





#1 - 9" X 16" Cut 2
#2 - 4 1/2" X 16" Cut 4
#3 - 9" X 16"Cut 2
#4 - 24" X 4" Cut1



take two of the four and sew along the edge leaving one side open(do the same with the other two(the black line) now turn right side out and sew them together (the pink line)and set it to the side



Sew along the edge rounding the corners do the same with the lining



Add pleats one in the middle and one on each side about 3 1/2" apart
and sew in the lining



Now sew the top part to the bag and turn right side out

Now add the straps and your done

This is my first tutorial so if it doesn't make sense let me know (sorry I didn't get pics for all the steps)

ooo i love it. i wish there were more thrift stores around and near me.  we have some weird-o goodwill in here that's "high-class" i dunno.  anyways i really love the shape of your bag!  i should make more fancy bags. 
and i don't mean to be a complete stalker or anything, but my best friend lives in austin, and she and her sister and friends made a mag ("candid") that had a spread of pointe ballerinas and bmx bikers.  it was awesome.

AHHH I LOVE SHOES!! This is one hott purse! If you have any fabric left over a little wallet would be the finishing touches. And I think the pink buttons are great. Nice Job
