I know it seems like all we do is add not-so-fun rules to the swap system but please bear with us! Tongue We're learning what works well and what is problematic as time goes on.

We've come up with a list of things that are not allowed in swap packages from now on. It's pretty straightforward. The only one that's a pretty big change is that we can't allow "Mixed CD Swaps" anymore. I know that's a drag but it's to protect you and to protect Craftster from legal issues.

Here's the list:

- Anything that is illegal in the U.S. or wherever you are sending your package to or from.

- Any items that have a legal age requirement to consume in the U.S. such as tobacco, alcohol, pornography etc.

- Mixed CDs containing copyrighted music or similar, including copied software, CDs, DVDs, etc.

This is also listed here:

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

Does this mean that "adult-only" swaps will not be possible?

To be safe we shouldn't allow them because we can't verify peoples' ages.

I think it's good! Craftster is an amazing place, but is also really big and the fact that it is running this well is something quite rare. Having a place like Craftster in cyberspace (and reality) is a privilege so let's keep it legal, safe and fun for everyone so that we can carry on with it!

besides that, if the package carrier gets wind that you're sending contraband, your name and address as well as the recipient's are all over the package.

aside from that craftster as a site would get tangled up it in any sort of suit, self preservation should remind us that it might not be a good idea to send extracurricular items in the mail.

"Sending contraband" LOL I think it's just that it's still hard for my mind to wrap around porn being contraband anywhere (unless you're underage of course!).

isn't there some sort of dislaimer that can be made like by entering in this swap you are waivign any responsibility crafster as an entity has?

and this doesn't mean no adult only swaps just that they have to be more...creative and not pron centred. who sends pron in a swap anyway!
