I posted the first recycled journal in the other board, whoops. But here's another. This book was just too much, you know... over the top cutesy. The binding was shot, so I took out the pages and gave it new life. The funny thing is it says on the front cover "Long life binding". Yeah OK.  Smiley so all that cello tape was just decorative?

This one was fun. My Dh saves me all kinds of stuff now, random bits leftover from his projects. This is vinyl floor tile. I just knew it had to be a book cover. Have a few more pieces, I think I may make myself a wee photo album.

I'm pretty impressed with this one - it's just a glue binding, but I was really surprised at how easy it was.
*boring background story* So I took the kids for a walk one day, and when we came back I left the stroller on the driveway. When I went back out a little later to put it away, there were three big glossy calendars sitting in the seat all neatly shrink wrapped. None of the neighbors left them - so I have no idea where they came from. But, now they're mine, so I cut them up. This book is bound with October from the Van Gogh calendar.  Smiley

These are amazing!

Would you mind posting a tutorial on how you did the calender book? Or do you have a link to where you learned to do it? I have a bunch of miscellaneous calenders that are just begging to become books.

The calendar journal is based off of this tutorial:

http://photojojo.com/content/diy/make-your-own-photo-notebook-journal/

But I didn't use two photos for the cover.
1 Glue the paper together, without the photo covers
2 Laminate the calendar page with a piece of sturdy paper - I used some brown kraft paper - spread the glue super super thin with a piece of plastic (think credit card or similar)
3 Score the cover for the spine + about 1/4 - 1/2" away for the fold (4 score lines total)
4 glue within the score lines (spread thin), weight until dry, trim edges (I left the cover about 1/2" too big on all sides until done, and then trimmed cover and paper all at once)

Let me know if you need more info, it's pretty easy.

And corduroy cat - that video is great.  Smiley

Thanks so much! I think I can figure it out. I've never tossed a calender yet and my parents buy me one for christmas every year. Of course on the ones I really like I frame the image and hang it on my wall depending on the theme of my room at the time.

You rock!
