Pink Poodle Cake with marshmallows

Ths was made for my daughters birthday.  It was a big hit with her and the other girls at the party.  They all really liked marshmallows!

The cake idea comes from the 2005 Australian Womans Weekly cake book and was pretty simple to put together on the day.  You just need a ton of tiny marshmallows, a few larger ones, some liquorice ropes and some patience!  I used a plain victoria sponge cake and pink icing. With kids I've found they like it best if the cake not too rich.

I bought 2 bags of mini ones that always come in white and pink mixed.  They are the kind you float on hot chocolate or use in baking.  Only really needed one bag but I wanted more of the pink.

This is a wonderful cake, takes lots of pictures and be sure it's in the kid's scrapbook/photoalbum to be admired for years to come!

My mum made wonderful cakes when I was a kid and I'm glad I have photos to look back on them!

what a great idea for a cake!!! i used to have a novel size cake book wih cut up cake plans and party ideas but i lent it to my sister, and who knows where it is now, haha.  i miss it, it had a ton of things like this. this is beautiful, great job!!
