I'm making an edit to the first post. Take a look if you haven't been there yet.

I want to join in. I'm making a set for my best friend for winter holidays (i call it in my mind solstice). I'm going to try and get the Major Arcana done by then, finish the Minor over winter break.

I'm going to make my own set as soon as I do this one too. It'll be nice to work with some other people.

I think that making a deck is really good. I think it makes you get more in touch with the cards, know more about what they mean (i know i struggle to remember the meanings so much!), and just enhance the whole connection in general.

I think I might try to get in on this too. I've wanted to do a deck for well over a decade but always been intimidated by it (78 cards is a LOT of cards, and it can be hard to keep it consistent through the work) Hell, there was a point where I got whimsical and started coming up with somewhat sillier ones.
I won't be able to start right away (I've got a lot of other things on my plate) but I'm posting so it shows up on my 'new replies to your posts' results.

okay, I've actually changed my mind. The boy's tarot will be for his birthday, so I'm going to be going on schedule with all of you.
I'm really excited. I'm interested though, what different methods is everyone planning on using? I'm thinking i'll be mixed media collage.

I don't need a tarot deck, I don't even want to have one. But making tarot cards sounds fun, so I guess I'm in. I suppose I can give it to someone as a present when it's ready.

First off, welcome to everyone who has joined in! I'm so glad people are
willing to undertake this project together.

and it can be hard to keep it consistent through the work

I'm not going to wory about staying completely consistant, my deck will have more character that way! I may try to throw some sort of themeing into the suits (I have this notion that all of my cups should feature mermaids and it just won't go a way), but for the most part, my deck will be as random as i am.

I'm interested though, what different methods is everyone planning on using?

I'll also be using collage, but I'm going to try to actually draw as many elements as possible and collage them together...i think. That could end up being a lot of work...
