I love the grocery bags, too.  You did a great job, onthinice!  Were they difficult to make?  Do you have any tips, like don't use all cotton yarn or don't use x pattern because it didn't make sense?  Eventually I would love to make some of these.

The market bags look very handy!! Nice that they are colorful!

The swap journal will be very very helpful--I don't know how I ever lived without mine!! It is a good thing I got one before I was so heavy into swaps or else I would be crazy!! (BTW devilninny--I need some more pages sweetie!! hint hint!)

Love the pincushion with the purple and black (my second favorite combo!)!

This is a wonderful swap--birthdays are just so special!!

Good job everyone!

Yay!  It's great that so many of you like shopping bags - death to the plastic bag Grin  The Saturday Market Bag was really quick and fairly easy.  I altered the pattern just a little - the pattern has you knit two separate squares and then sew them together to make the body of the bag.  Instead, I knit one long rectangle (essentially double the square pattern) and sewed up the two sides.  It is a six of one, half dozen of another kind of thing.  You could also probably knit the same stitch pattern in the round and skip the sewing altogether.

I used plain old el cheapo Sugar & Cream cotton yarn, and it took two skeins for each bag  Cheesy  Oh, and make sure you use a larger needle size when you bind off at the top of the bag.  I didn't on the first one (blue and white one), and the bag's opening is much smaller because of it.

I received from Sewpixie! A lovely lilac stencilled owl t-shirt, some bubble gum flavoured chewing gum and a card! Sewpixie took the owl design from an owl pendant in my Wists and she did an awesome job! I love it! Thanks Becca!  Grin

The pin cushion is really cute.  I like the tufted look of them.  And the notecards totally rock.  Hooray for vintage ads!

I have to say that the owl t-shirt won my heart.  That is the coolest owl stencil I have ever seen!

I hearby declare this swap to be ...  AWESOME!   Grin

So happy you like the shirt Samsara. Like I mentioned to you, I wanted to add a bit more to it but didn't want to risk ruining it. The pendant on your wist was just crying out to be a stencil. I'm really started to get why my ex-SIL did so love owls when I was a kid. Smiley

The market bags look great. Inara made me one (not sure if it is the same pattern) for Use What You Have and I can't wait to take it to the store with me.

The purple looks great on that black n white pincushion.
