I'm guessing this is the right place to put this...
My friend Siubhan is very musical and plays piano.  I figured with an unusual name like hers she wouldn't get much in the way of personalised things so I decided to make her a box for her birthday.  I got a papier mache box from Spotlight and painted it like a piano.  I lined it with red velvet (I was going to use felt but had the velvet handy.  I realised felt would have been easier - I had little red fluff everywhere!) and trimmed the top with black ribbon for a neater finish.  On top I used flat glass marbles (I got that idea from Craftster!) to emphasise her name and but out a treble clef and musical note from white paper.  I hope she likes it!

For the singer: You could have more emphasis on the musical notes - put them on the sides and include other musical symbols (clefs, flats, sharps, etc).

For the guitarist, possibly have a picture of a guitar stretched around the four sides.  Or have guitar tabs (or musical staffs, depending on how your musician reads the music) around them.  You could stick picks (plectrums, whatever you want to call them) around it.
