Do you think we should maybe all take pics of what we send before we send it out, that way our partners don't feel rushed to either work the project immediately or unravel the ball, if they want it to be a surprise as they craft...?

If you subsequently post the pics it still spoils th surprise. :-p But it's always good practice to take pics of everything you send in a swap, for your own benefit if nothing else. I would advise taking a group shot of the goodies, a shot of the final ball all wrapped up, and detail shots of anything that's big or complex. That way, if six months down the line someone asks about making one of the little doohickies in your ball, you can pull out your photo and show them, OR if your partner's camera gets dropped in the toilet by a toddler and they can't replace it anytime soon, you can post pics for them once they have seen the items themselves and it is no longer a surprise.

I took pictures when I rolled mine up - sorta kinda forgot to take pictures of all the stuff that's INSIDE it <sigh>

I am NOT unrolling it, it was pretty tricky getting everything to stay tucked in!

I think what I'll do is take a pic of the stuff I'm sending unwrapped and the post a link to the pic in case other people want to see but my partner doesn't want to spoil the surprize!!!

That way my partner can only peek if she wants to!

That's a really good idea Kristen81, I might give that a go - I went on a big shopping spree today for the yarn and the bought goodies. Now I just have to make the crafty bits. Saving the best 'til last Tongue

Well, oddly enough, I am done with my partner's yarn ball! Smiley  Usually I am always pushing the deadline on swaps.  But, I knew what pattern I wanted to send right away and if I had collected too many more treasures they wouldn't have fit in the yarn ball!!

I may send it out today if I get a chance, pretty soon the mail will be slow and full of Christmas boxes...
