Made this for my mama for x-mas:

I had to try it on the for the pic but mom is 2 inches shorter than me and 30lbs lighter, so it'll fit her a lot better :-)

I look all pissy but i'm not so much lol :-)

here's the pattern (it's not free though but totally worth the money)

Wow! Your Mom will be so happy when you give that to her, it looks gorgeous!! BTW I just gave my mom the "Somewhat Cowl" for her birthday in just the same colour, she was delighted...so will be your mom. Grin

Thank you! i hope she'll like it.

def. had to make the sleeves longer bc she's *always* cold.

I made it in the smallest size bc my mom is so slight. i think if i were keeping it i would have made it a size larger so i could wear a shirt under it (in the pic i have a long sleeve shirt on under it)

That looks great - I'm sure your Mom will love it!  I have that pattern, and recently tried to make it, but due to a mishap (broken needle) it ended up in the frog pile.

I had trouble with the increases in the ribbing being really noticeable.  Did you follow the pattern there?

yes i followed the pattern for the ribbing increases, i though they looked odd too but once it was off the needles it really just sort of worked it's self out. a quick wash and spin in the dryer helped too.
