Ive been making stuff for ages and have lurked on crafster since its  beginning , today i thought Id actually post something I made! Its not even the best thing Ive ever made so Im not too sure why im starting with it  Undecided

Its a dinky little make up bag. Made with a pink canvasy (not too sure what it is) material  (white stuff that i got from ikea and dyed) .Its lined with a soft waterproof silky nylon material (i think!) .

*edited- i reinstalled the zip because im very very persnickety with my projects  Roll Eyes (but also lazy LOL its an odd combination!) so its less wonky and then i took some better photos

Your bag looks great, I'm glad you decided to post.  Can you post a tute?  I've been wanting to make one of those for awhile.

It was really very simple  Embarrassed

just 2 squares of outer material and 2 of lining sewn together to make a pouch (i think its best to sew the zipper to the lining first and to use a zip slightly longer than the pouch [which i didnt! lol] )and the  a zip sewn on top

of course if your really like I can make a little tutorial (although ive never done one) however Im in the middle of a  big messanger bag  Cheesy so itll have to wait until thats finished ( im only at the cutting stage but it shouldnt take too long)
begin again

your bag looks great, poordumbird- you really shouldn't sound all apologetic! It's great! not that i'm any better on the self-effacing respect but man, we ladies should give it a rest- that's what these forums are for.

wanted to also point out that there is an existing tutorial for making a lined bag with a zipper, try using the search thingie- I think comfits was the author.

I love the shamu on the pink fabric perfect color choice, and the shamu is wicked.  Plus i love the black ribbon it gives it a really cute touch.  I just broke the zipper on my pink make bag with a giraff on it, i think i might need a killer whale one one now! lol.   Cheesy
