This one I got done over the weekend for the 11 yead old daughter of a co-worker. The outside is denim-like and the inside is a stiff black canvas (I made her mom one with red on the outside and posted in another thread a while back). The front has a bright pink zipper pocket with a black cotton as the pocket back and beads. The back has a zip as well but no beads.

The tote I made last week to hold my cross-stitch project. I used some fabric I had bought to cover some couches that never got done. The buttons are gold ones from my button stash. I actually used some of the fabric also for a crate cover for the dog and a runner for a table in the bedroom so I think it's 'home' will be in there. The font pocket is a bit wonky but it works. The back is the same as the front.

I love that you used the faggoting stitch to sew in the zipper. Brilliant!

:::clap clap clap:::
I love them both. Do you think the drawstring would be very difficult to accomplish for an average bag maker like myself?

The little drawstring looks great....they both look great in fact..... Smiley

The zip on the front is a very nice touch (and useful) and the beads look super!

Do you use a drawstring pattern with an oblong-ish base or more like a jordy bag base?

Between two evils, pick the one you haven't tried before

Those are fabulous! I especially love the beaded area on the first bag. THe zipper down the front really adds charaacter to the bag. I love them!

Thanks everyone!

Ya DivaLea I figure if I have all those stiches I best use 'em. I used the same stitch on the handles.

Fury-inc I used the jordy pattern but made it a little taller for the drawstring.

ilovepaper I think the drawstrings are super simple. i made qute a few drawsting pouches before making other bags. if you wanna rundown of how i did it let me know. we may have some drawstring tutes laying around somewhere too that could be used.
