Jolly Roger modified for Danzig skull

I taught my friend Robert how to crochet about a month ago.  He made a scarf, then a hat, then modified the Jolly Roger pattern for a Danzig skull.  He's a quick learner.  It was his Halloween costume. I've got to say that I was blown away by the results.  After making the sleeves he decided to leave it as a vest because he thought the sleeves were too bulky.  I absolutely LOVE how it came out.  By the by, he used Red Heart Super Saver.  Here's a pic of him singing "Mother" at Halloween karaoke.

I wish I could take the credit, but honestly he figured most of it out on his own.  I've been trying to get him to join craftster, hopefully he will one day, but he told me I could post the pics in the meantime.

Well, first I helped him use the knitpro graphing software with a Danzig skull pic he found online, but the smallest graph they could make was too wide.  (He is skinny and had to go smaller than the smallest size by reducing the overall width by 4 or maybe 6 stitches.  So once we figured out that the knitpro graph was too wide he started over by pasting a grid into paint, then filling in the squares he wanted.  It started off as a solid skull, but then he decided to leave some squares black to give it that authentic Danzig look.  Hope that made sense.

Wow. I tried so hard to learn how to crochet and anything beyond single crochet eluded me (I'm a knitter, which might be why my hands/wrists don't want to move the right way). He puts me to shame! I love it when crochet and knit is used for something so hardcore. It's pretty awesome.
