I made this dress over the summer and at the last minute I decided to use it as a Holly Golightly costume.. (Although I wish I would have thought about it before hand so I could attempt the Givenchy dress!) It's made of cotton sateen and it has some stretch to it, but it's relatively thick... and everything that is not black sticks to it.

My friend took the first picture and the last four are pictures that I attempted to take of the dress..
The details are hard to see in the images.. it's supposed to gather at the shoulders in the front but it didn't work as well as it should have because of the thickness of the fabric.

You did a wonderful job with this dress! It fits you well, I have heard some people complain that they don't like the fit. It is very Audrey-ish, I think that's the reason why I picked out the pattern also.

And your gathers look better than the ones I did when I made this dress. I think mine came out more as pleats, but that was my fault My interfacing was too stiff.

Once again, great job!

I think that my gathers ended up being more pleat-y as well.. It was the first time I tried a real gather.. as for the interfacing, I just left it out.. Whenever I put it in, it usually makes a mess of whatever I'm trying to make..

Thanks so much for your compliments!
