I can't belive it, Ive never won anything in my life. My LYS had a drawing for their 2 year anniversary and I won! I also won a pattern but it's for a very basic 4x4 ribbed scarf. I've knitted up soo many ribbed scarves I can't bear to do another. sooo help me with ideas!

the yarn is baby alpaca grande. 2 skeins of color 2961

http://www.plymouthyarn.com/index.php?nav=cYarn.yarnDetail&yarnid=000131&searchcollection=000012

click color card  and it's 2961 which is in the upper left hand. You can't really tell but it's worsted and it looks like one strand is black, the other a rusty brown.

Im am up for a challenge, I'd say Im an intermediate knitter. I'd love to get better at lace but its not right for it. I do love cables, but I think the yarn is too soft or that. It's very very soft, I can't imagine it holding a shape very well.

Well if cables and lace are out, it sounds like you need a textured stitch, like a basket weave or somesuch.
I, personally, am in love with this one.

Check out this bobble scarf.  It is super cute.  I knitted one with leaf green alpaca from knitpicks.  I did a 5-stitch bobble.

that is my absolute *favorite* yarn.  I made a beanie out of a little less than one skein with the hat calculator ( http://www.earthguild.com/products/knitcroc/marypat/hatcalc.htm ) and it's the warmest hat I own.  So maybe a nice hat? Smiley
