My boyfriend is going on a 9 day mission trip to Israel this winter so for Hanukkah I'm going to make him a travel journal/book.

The first section will have lined pages for each day so he can write down what he did. I am also going to include pockets for papers he collects, quotes, and a picture of us for him to look at.

After that I'm going to hollow out the rest of the pages where he can stash non-paper items.

Any other thoughts/ideas would be great!

I made my boyfriend a writing kit.  It was just a simple quilted pouch, and then I stenciled a fountain pen on the front and the words "don't forget to write!".  I filled it with all kinds of writing supplies - pens, stationary, postcards, stickers, and stamps.  He loved it, and now he has no excuse to not write to me!
