Halloween costumes are always a big decision for me, and after a few months of messing around with scrap fabric on the machine, i decided to be Alice In Wonderland this year. As of right now, I only have one picture of this outfit, but more will be coming.

So all in all, here's what I made and what from:
Skirt: various scrap fabrics, consisting from ribbons found in the trash at JoAnn's to shirts with broken zippers found in the basement
Apron: Upcycled pillowcase, sewn entirely by hand.
Corset: Yet another upcycled pillowcase, from the same set. Bits and pieces of this were sewn by hand as I became time-pressed and needed to finish the costume.
Shirt: Bought off a friend at a yardsale for 25 cents
Not seen: Various embroidery
Total time: 30+ hours

I'll post better pictures of everything later this week.

That looks really cool, I like your take on the Alice theme Smiley.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

Super cute!
Aren't you glad you did it yourself? I don't think I could buy an Alice costume either...
Looks fantastic Smiley

Sooo glad. There were a lot of people that thought I was Dorothy (Wizard of Oz), but I can see the confusion.
There are just so many possibilities in Alice costumes...they shouldn't be limited to store bought.
And Thanks Smiley

That is a really pretty dress. I'd actually wear something like that out normally (does that make me v. strange?)

I don't think so, I was thinking the same thing! I didn't realize it was a costume from the thumbnail. Good job!

That looks amazing. I love the skirt and so many hours spent on it.

I plan on wearing it on a monthly basis, if it makes you feel better Cheesy
