Tree Guestbook

I made this for Kittykill for her wedding this coming weekend!    Their theme is Day of the Dead/Voodoo/Tiki - so, those typical white lace-covered books just wouldn't do justice!

Please don't think, "Wow.  You made her a dead tree.  How sweet!" 'cause it gets better, I swear! 




Instructions for the guests...






Acid free, archival ink... yay.


So I'm not responsible for burning her wedding down.   They flicker just like flames...tee hee.


Hopefully once everyone has left their name or note to her & hubby, the whole tree will be full of leaves of love & wisdom.    I hope they like it!

Thanks much!  She said she would send pictures of the "after" after the wedding... I'm excited to see it in action!  Hehe.

I love the little owl - he can't help but be cute, even by himself I guess.

What a great idea.  We wanted something like that at our wedding but my mom insisted on the boooring book someone gave me.  Great job and I am sure kittykill loves it!!

Thanks so much!  We're getting married next year, so I'm trying to think of another idea for our wedding, too.

Thanks!    I think I'm going to make something similar, but use it as a jewelry holder.  I've seen some but they were quite expensive & we can't have that.

um. that guestbook is the most amazing thing i have ever seen. you are pretty much a genious(sp?).

after seeing that, i went and told my boyfriend "hey aaron, we have to get married now because i saw as really cool guestbook on craftster and i'd really like to do something like that" him.."um..ok?" haha.

i was only kidding. i'm only 18 i'm not geting married yet. but yah. that guestbook is beautiful...dependi ng on the theme of the wedding...there are so many similar things people could do. oh man i'm so excited about having a wedding one day!

Ha!!  I can only imagine the look on his face when you said that!  Crazy crafting blurts like that are priceless.   You two (I think that's him!) are very cute in your avatar, too. 

Oh yeah, so are so many themes the idea could be taylored for!  I was going to make little sugar skulls from poly clay & maybe a pinata to hang in the tree because her theme is Day of the Dead, but time got away from me.
