Hi wedding board craftsters!  My boyfriend proposed on Monday night, so expect to see me around here a lot in the next 10-22 months ^_^

Anyway, I've decided to wait until I go home next weekend for Christmas to tell my parents/extended family and my brother has insisted I come up with an imaginative way to announce the engagement at our Christmas Eve party (since "everyone, we have an announcement" sets off everyone's 'they're getting married' alarms ; p)

I'd like to give my mom a present during our big gift exchange that somehow told her I'm engaged.  So far all I've got is maybe a picture of me and my fiance and "the rock" or maybe a bottle of champagne with a note...

Anyone have any great/crafty ideas??

You should combine those ideas! take a photo of your fiance kissing the side of your face and you doing this face Shocked with your left hand up to your mouth. make a pretty card and envelope, put that inside and attach it to a bottle of champagne with pretty ribbons and beads. that would be so cute! congratulations! and good luck!

it is not inertia alone that is responsible for human relationships repeating themselves, monotonous and un-renewed, it is shyness before all else.

You could make a puzzle, and give everyone a piece, with a number on the back.  Then create a poster, with the outline of the puzzle and the numbered pieces on it.  Hand them out, and everybody can put the puzzle together.  The puzzle could be you and your fiancee, or some words.  But they will get the idea.
