For Halloween I really want to be Foxxy Cleopatra (from Austin Powers in Goldmember) I've NEVER sewn anything in my life, so does anyone know where I can BUY clothes like hers? ANY help will be greatly appreciated! You can email me at holly1102@yahoo.com, if you email me, please name the subject Foxxy Costume or something like that. Thanks in advance!!

Could you post a pic of the character? Maybe someone will get some ideas.

Have you googled the character under costumes? Just a thought.

Good luck.

Yes, I've Googled and Yahooed...I like the black outfit the best, but I can't see below the waist! I'm going to rent the movie so that I can view some more of her outfits

For the black top, I would just buy a black button-down blouse at Goodwill with the long pointed collar points, if you can find them. Then just take it in a little to make it fitted. It helps if it is already pretty well fitted. Then just cut it off about at bust level and maybe put in some light elastic to make it fit tight around the body. For the bust area you may be able to just fold back the opening or cut it to make it V a little. I don't know about that part, I'd just have to play with it on. Either way, I'd say she's wearing some kind of cleavage helping bra. To make the collar and cuffs, you can either make your own or add white polka dots with fabric paint to the cuffs that are there. You may have to make the sleeves a little tighter, as well.

The bottom of the outfit would likely be either a miniskirt or bell bottom pants. For either, just follow some of the threads around here on making a miniskirt and making pants into bell bottoms. You may be able to just wear some black pants, that are bells, and add a black scarf/ribbon/belt that has been polkadotted.

Good luck and post your results!

Dont know where you are, but someplace like Forever 21 or Rave would be a good place to start, as well as Goodwill (www.goodwill.org). You might have to scour a few thrift stores, but you should come up with something.

But that's kinda expensive.  Not terrible though.

I've never seen the movie, but looking at stills, there appears to be a pink and yellow flowy thing that could be duplicated with a nice silk long jacket or short robe, with some contrasting wide bits of fabric to tie at the waist.

Her gold outfit would be easy to duplicate with a couple yards of lame, or a lame skirt and a bikini top.
