For this Halloween, my brave boyfriend allowed me to make him a costume, without telling him what it was.

He's a huge Star Wars fan, so I made him an Anakin Skywalker costume, from Episode III. After a month and a half of work, three restarts on the outer tunic, almost every bolt of brown fabric Joann's has, and no opportunity to try it on a real person, I *finally* gave it to him this past weekend. It fit! And even more importantly, he loved it!

With the cape:

Without the cape:

And a close-up.

This is a photo that I worked off of:

I used a pattern for the cloak, tabards, and inner tunic, but made up my own outer tunic and pants patterns. The boots and thin outer belt were purchased, but everything else was made. Oh, and the lightsaber came from his personal collection.  Wink

Let me know what you think!

Haha...thanks! Sure I'll make ya a costume, lol....  Wink as long as it has *nothing* to do with Jedis! After all the work I put into this one, I don't even want to think about Star Wars for a while.

[Except to see my boy muck about in his costume. He's such a cutie.  Grin]

Oh, I am geeking out over that! Cheesy I was five years old when the first movie came out, and absolutely adore Star Wars! I was half-convinced I WAS Princess Leia as a kid.

So excellent job! So many people try to skimp on materials, but the Jedi costumes need those crazy layers. (Didn't they ever get hot?) And it looks awesome on him!

I think the two of you are just too sweet for words!

I just spat milk and cereal at the computer screen when I saw this, it is seriously awesome, he even looks like Anakin, at first I thought you had posted a reference photo first but then I realised that *was* the actual costume.

Excuse my gushing, but I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I know (after my pitiful attempts to create a jedi costume for the midnight premier of Episode three) that jedi costumes are hard to do.

That and the fact that I am extreemly jelouse that people in *other* countries get excuses to dress up in cool costumes and most Aussies are lucky if they get one a year. *pouts, gets over it*

Goodluck in the challenge,
-Ralph
