Since it is the Halloween season, I decided to knit the Leia buns.  Smiley  The coolest and warmest hat I have EVER worn!  Plus it was a fun costume.  Campy and funny but still cool!  I got the pattern from bleuarts.blogspot.com.

Oh man....I bought a leia costume for my toddler daughter that had a felt hat with the buns on the side. I could have just made it myself.
That is so freaking cool.

That is awesome, I've been wanting to make myself one of those and be the envy of all my geeky friends.  Grin

You did a great job, did you use the recommended yarn and needles? It looks like a different color.

Thanks for all the support!  I didn't use the recommended yarn.  It was recommended to use Misti Alpaca Chunky, and it would require at least 2 skeins of it.  I have used that yarn before, and it is just so soft and wonderful, but I couldn't justify the investment for a costume item.  So, I got some craft store acrylic (worsted weight) and knitted with two strands as a sub.

Oh, and it's NOT too late if you're trying to make this for Halloween.  It seriously didn't take me long at all.

I saw that hat about a month ago online and hit my WIST button almost immediately! I think you picked a great color- the color she had chosen on her site I thought was a bit to dark for princess Leia but yours is right on. Great job!

Even though I've only made one single ugly scarf in my life, you've inspired me for my next project:
