This morning I kinda broke the outside of my USB-stick. Now there must be many ways to repair it and make it even better.

I thought of making a felt wrap, to make it look like something with a red glowing eye  Roll Eyes or adding gems and glitter (but I am not sure if my computer would appreciate it as much as I would...)

Or being brave and turn my little stickie into something as cool as this:

Anyone else interested in making their data-storing devices the coolest ever?

As long as you do not damage the inside portion of the thumbdrive, it will still operate just fine.

As for me I think this is a great idea! I have made one of mine into SpongeBob.
Sponge Bob Thumb Drive Mod

This is a fast fun mod and craft.

Essentials needed:
SpongeBob stuffed keychain (or similar toy)
pair of scissors
seam ripper
needle and thread
pins
thumb drive
Pictured here:

We have the technology we can rebuild him.....
First we need to give SpongeBob a little breathing room in his pants. Don't worry Bob this won't hurt a bit.

He looks to have taken that pretty well.

Next is to open up the seam in the top of his square head. After that is done some of the fiberfill inside will need to be removed to accommodate the thumb drive. Only remove about a quarter size amount.

Push the thumb drive into the top seam, and oput the hole made in SpongeBob's britches. Then you need to stitch back up the top of his head so it looks the same as before.

Now let's see our handy work.

Here is SpongeBob getting his thumb drive on.

And now he is ready to go anywhere.

HSG, I'm not a fan of Sponge Bob, but that is simply brilliant!

That Spongebob thumbie is awesome, but mostly because of your commentary!

Thank you both  Grin I can be silly at times, and this was one of them. Have to admit though Bob gets loads of comments when I take him out and use him in public.

Count me in - I really want to do this for myself and for my fiance for Christmas, especially since a place near me has 1G drives for about $17.  I may do this for most of my friends for Christmas, actually.
