Alright here we go sorry about the wait. After my bf was done we went thrift shopping and when we got back he ate more pasta Sad
This is the whole flung over the shoulder look. You can kinda see the hairstick in there.  Anybody had success getting it to stay up on your shoulder? Mine just doesn't want to cooperate, but it still looks nice.
Heres the hairband look. I put a brooch on it to see what it would look like.  Those stick pins are super cute, but my lady e is so thick it wouldn't do much of anything.

Oooh, that's really cute! Your pointy ends are super cool. I like the second style best. (Love your hair too, BTW Smiley )

Here's my Lady E in progress:

SWTC Karaoke in Mermaid Mix. I love love love the colors in this yarn. Not just the all over color changes but the subtle colors in each bit of yarn. It's sooo much lighter than the SWS and while not a fluffy-soft it's cottony-soft and  has none of the prickliness of SWS. I don't think it'll shed either. Hooray!

Oh, and here's a not-so-great shot of my mini-LadyE/Danica hybrid:

Can't wait for my mom to see it!

Have you thought about a Penannular Brooch? They were designed to hold closed cloaks and hold up tartans (which are alot of fabric and admittedly can be heavy)

Maybe you can make one of your own, out of WIRE HANGERS! maybe? (sorry, after watching Mommy Dearest I can never hear wire hangers and not think of that)

2/18/12 - I no longer have the directions for wrapped pens, I lost them several years ago. To obtain them for yourself, do like I did, contact DMC threads directly and ask for them.

Dang! Those celtic ones are gorgeous and fairly well priced! I've seen things like those in knitting magazines, but with dicroic glass. I was thinking of creating something similar of ceramic or polymer clay. I think it doesnt want to stay behind me because its so wide, and I made it 4" smaller too. I can't imagine making it the full size!

meriellyn-those blues are gorgeous! Craftster really needs to get a drooling smiley!

Wow. That looks wonderful! And I agree, a penannular brooch would be great with it.  How long/wide did your Lady E turn out?

Here is my completed Lady. It rocks!

The length is equivalent to my arm span and I think it is 24 inches wide. I  used a wack of Noro Kochoran...i have bit left over too!

This is the most luxurious item I have ever made. It will be a great wrap! I plan to take it to the beach and get a shot then...I will post to show you why this is the Lady Vancouver!

It is pretty thick so I find that rolling the top over makes it easier to to toss over the shoulder. And I love the thick collar it makes.

No, I was merely reading the Muggle magazines. I do love knitting patterns.

Looks great, discoprincess. I love those subtle (but gorgeous!) colours.  And now that you've dubbed it "Lady Vancouver," I'm totally fantasizing about BC. Smiley

Really pretty, discoprincess. I love the colors. Neutral without even approaching boring at all. Smiley It'll go with so many different things!
