Knitty's Danica is made the same way, so if you check out that pattern (knit a swatch!) you'll see how it's done.

Pau hana! *does the happy Snoopy dance* I made it slightly shorter than the pattern requires because it's for my mom and she is fairly "petite" so I didn't want it to engulf her. Excuse my fat sloppy self, and Food Network in the background. XD

Awesome!! Those colors turned out gorgeous. You are the best daughter ever, I'd never have the patience to do that for my mammy. Well maybe. Love the Alton Brown in the bg btw. What was the final length on it? It seems to be a pretty good size, just to gauge when to end mine.  Did you end up blocking it?

hehe thank you! Yes while I am happy I made it for my mother... I think I'll really *think* about how much time will be involved next time, lol.

The body ended up being 76", plus about 20" on each end with the fringe. So 116" total?
I ended up not blocking it. I had made a small test swatch of about 6x6 and blocked that and with the texture of this yarn I wasn't really happy with it. I kinda like the bumpy rustic texture this yarn provides. Smiley

I seriously need to make this. I just need to figure out which yarn. There are so many beautiful wraps in here! solid or colorway...noro or sws.
 Huh

Nymeria, that is just gorgeous. If you don't mind a few more questions--

How many triangles did you cast on for at the beginning?
How wide did it end up being?
How many balls of yarn did you end up using?

Can't wait to get to mine after Christmas!
